SEE-ara! Oh my... Ciara's pants ripped apart the other day while she was performing and let's just say we saw a little too much of her "Goodies" and it don't look pretty. "Oh" indeed... ![]() So I surfed on over to the MuchMusic homepage the other day and discovered some really sad news! Rick the Temp is leaving Much! This is honestly (no sarcasm here) really sad because Rick was like the BEST VJ on Much! I mean, those little kiddies parading as "VJs" right now are so bad! I totally grew up watching Rick on TV. And my friend Emily and I used to have this little pretend joke that I was Rick and she was (another former Much VJ) Rachel Perry. I mean.. no we didn't. Now Much is stuck with these idiots: Sarah (look at my funny hair!) Taylor, Leah (like, omigosh!) Miller, Matte (i know nothing about music but i fulfil the black quota on Much) Babel and Devon (you think i'm cool and i love it) Soltendieck. Oh right, there's Hannah Sung and that Jen girl with weird coloured hair, but they don't really count. This is a sad day people... Tuesday, August 23, 2005
Nicole Richie trashes out ![]() Everything about this pic is so so wrong. I love big sunglasses on girls, but not when they make you look bug-eyed. And I thought the whole barefeet in public look went down the toilet (literally) when Britney Spears went into a gas station bathroom without her shoes on a few months ago. Maybe it's my just-had-done pedicure speaking, but eww. Eww. Friday, August 19, 2005
In anticipation of tonight's "What Not to Wear" episode, I went over to the show's website and took their style quiz to see how much I knew about well, style. I... didn't do as well as I thought. Let's just say the message at the end read: "You're put together but you could definitely need some work." Dissssss! New York Day 17: Still no sign of Clinton or Stacy... will keep searching tomorrow! Sunday, August 14, 2005
![]() I got really giddy today after seeing this pic. I'm beginning to have OC withdrawl I think... and stupid me left my OC DVD set at home in Toronto instead of bringing them with me to New York! I DID, however, purchase Saved by the Bell Season 5! (Y'know, the season with Tori, that weird leather-jacket wearing girl?) I popped in the graduation episode last night I swear to god I shed a tear for Zack Morris' speech. Man I am a little too into teen television shows... Thursday, August 11, 2005
So I made this friend the other day who also happened to go to McGill University in Montreal (the same university I went to!) That's about the only thing we have in common. She jogs every night, I.. don't. She has cool hair. I can't get my hair to do anything cool as much as I've tried. She reads books, I do the Mariah Carey crossword puzzle from In Touch Magazine. She has lactose intolerance, I drink milk and eat lots of ice-cream. She knows what Search Engine Optimization means, my homepage is set to yahoo...? But we've tried to find things in common. We tried sitting down and watching TV together the other night and we realized we should stop trying. She's really nice, don't get me wrong, but the shows she chooses to watch are just pure garbage! I mean, I was ready to catch E's True Hollywood Story of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, but she wanted to watch - get this - The West Wing?!! Can you believe that? Then last night I'm all ready for my "celebreality" hour with Hogan Knows Best and The Surreal Life but she changes the channel to Law and Order! And then tonight she actually wanted to watch the news instead of the "101 Most Sensational Crimes of Celebrity Fashion!" I can't believe her! She has SUCH bad taste in TV! This relationship is not going to work. I need to make some new friends. Wednesday, August 10, 2005
OH... MY.... GOD. Have you SEEN the new Backstreet Boys video for "Just Want You to Know?" It is the WORST VIDEO I have EVER seen! I cannot believe they thought this was a good idea! And what's sadder is that I think Nick Carter actually thinks he's "rocking out." Like while the other guys are in on the joke and are obviously being sarcastic (good god at least I hope so!), Nick Carter is trying really really hard to be a rocker. *cringe* Dload the vid and tell me you don't agree with me that this is just a plain out BAD video gone horribly wrong! Yikes! Ahh! While I have been thoroughly enjoying my American TV here in New York (namely: VH1, E! (The Entertainment Channel) and MTV), I am incredibly disappointed that without MuchMusic, I will be missing the Mary-Kate and Ashley Live @ Much show at the end of the month! I mean, sure I was disappointed to miss Paris Hilton Live @ Much and Jessica Simpson's recent appearance was really overhyped in my opinion. But to miss Mary-Kate and Ashley?! This is just the most terrible setback ever experienced in my life!!! At least I'll have U.S. TV's oddly endearing crop of reality shows (or as VH1 tries to cleverly name is, "celebreality") to keep me entertained. Even more odd is how Omarosa manages to be on EVERY one of these shows! She's on The Surreal Life, Kill Reality (a show where ex-reality stars make a horror movie) and was in "Celebrity" Fear Factor. Clearly the woman does not realize that her 15 minutes were over a long time ago! She is not as fun to watch as she thinks she is. What IS fun to watch, however, is Celebrity Fit Club, where fat ex-celebrities form teams and try to lose the most weight! The sight of Jackee (the mother on Sister, Sister - remember that show?) trying to do strip-aerobics is funny enough, but add in her "sista friend" black accent commentary and she is doubly hilarious! At the end of the show, they make the contestants stand in a giant scale (no, seriously) and the scale teeters back and forth until we find out which team weighs more. I've also become addicted to Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D-List" reality show. Basically cameras follow Kathy Griffin around and watch her make fun of celebrities. Kathy Griffin hasn't had a hit show in years, is never in US or In Touch and is about as pretty as a sack of potatoes, but yet I can't help but like her! She is really really funny and comes up with the best wisecracks, probably because what she says is so true! Two other shows I must mention: Hogan Knows Best following Hulk Hogan's family and "Kept," which I'm not really sure what it's about. "Hogan" tries to convince us that it's a real show, but really it's just another pathetic attempt to try and give Hulk's daughter Brooke a singing career. I can't help but feel like she's doing all the WRONG things to get her career started - she signed with Lou (I swear I'm not a pedophile) Pearlman - the guy who discovered BSB and NSYNC and O-Town sure, but also the guy who BSB and NSYNC and O-Town SUED for being a shady manager! Then Brooke dated Aaron Carter. Enough said. Finally, she tried going to whole "Britney" route and slutting up her image. It would've worked better had Brooke not been a friggin' 7 feet giant weighing 200 pounds! Instead of looking like she'll pounce on you and get sexy in bed, she looks like she'll pounce on you, squish you and suffocate you to death. Kept meanwhile, follows Jerry Hall (Mick Jagger's ex-wife) as she looks for a younger boytoy. I honestly think that's what this show is about. She goes on dates with younger men who look like they're straight (and I use that term loosely) out of an Abercrombie ad and then chooses one of them to be her "kept man." Ridiculous premise but so good to watch! It's basically a bunch of good looking guys WHORE-ing themselves out to an older woman! And the prize? No money, no record contract, no trip but just the chance to stand beside Jerry Hall and go out on the town with her. Can you say cougar? Many more American shows to discuss, but now is not the time. Rather, I must search my piles of stuff, dig up my old Mary-Kate and Ashley calendar and have a quiet time to mourn while watching Full House reruns on TV. Monday, August 08, 2005
Another PLUG for PinkistheNewBlog.com I check this site every day and I LAUGH OUT LOUD without fail each time I visit! The captions and commentary are hilarious! Check it out and get your daily fix of celeb gossip that I'm too lazy to post here. Things to look for: - pics of Fergie WETTING her pants during a concert! (Tim says "Eww gross!") - news of Brad and Angelina expecting a baby!!! (Tim says "Double gross!") - (almost) daily pics of Britney and Kevin in their trailer trash clothes (Tim says "We think it's gross now, but you just wait - I bet it'll be stylish and in all the stores soon!") Can I mention how much I'm loving Season 2 of "Laguna Beach: The Real OC?" Okay, well I'm not loving it as much as Season 1, but still, with teenage love triangles, spoiled rich kid parties and the beach, what isn't there to love? I thought last year's cast (with Trey, Lo and preacher's daughter Christina) was way more interesting but at least we still get to see Stephen and Lauren and their blossoming relationship, as well as "Queen Bee" Kristin, who - obssessive US Weekly reading research here - has hired an agent after her popularity soared on the show. Huh? How is this still a "reality show" then if you have your agent pushing you the parts? Now comes word that Lo's private photo albumhas been discovered online! And her name might not even be Lo?! This is SO not reality-tv! Reality TV is above the REAL stuff people - you know, like fake millionaires and overnight dates to fantasy islands and all that other stuff we experience in our real life! Currently in New York where I get MTV - Laguna Beach: The Real OC is SO on my TV every Monday! |
