Annnd... I like American Idol again! Last week's "Maul-pisode" (like that? Little OC reference but with negative synonym connotations? Never mind.) had me reaching for the remote faster than you could say "A new episode of "House" is next on FOX" but this week was actually really entertaining to watch! Jessica Sierra was hot man! Like she has a really really BIG.. er... voice. And it looks, I mean, sounds amazing! Honestly, I love the sound of her voice. Carrie Underwood was good too, although her 80s hair has to go! I spend enough TV time watching people on "Ambush Makeover" work to get rid of 80s hair and I refuse to see it being promoted as a new style trend to impressionable youngsters watching A.I. Nadia Turner is still a star in my eyes. But this was her worst performance yet. Why pick such an oversung tune? And that mohawk? More like NOhawk! It sorta just limped over her forehead like her hair couldn't decide between being spiked up or being bangs. And Mikalah? Yikes. The first line of her song read "Saying goodbye is never an easy thing to do." No it isn't my dear, but get ready to say goodbye anyway because you are SO going home tomorrow. As for the guys, I thought Nikko Smith was "aight" as Randy would say, but Scott Sabol/White Ruben Studdard still scares me. Somebody needs to feed him a cheeseburger and kick him out because he's such a cheesy performer and bad singer. Ditto all the other guys... especially Constipated- oops, I mean, Constantine. His scream-out-loud version of "I think I love you" seemed more appropriate at an audition for the role of "stalker" in a horror movie. *freak!* Before I end, I must remark on a) How big Ryan Seacrest's arms got (and how I spent much of tonight's show frustrated that I couldn't read what the slogan on his t-shirt said because his microphone was covering the top letters) and b) how Simon has used up all his insults and metaphors that he has now taken to reusing the same lines over and over! Tonight he managed to combine BOTH a comparison to a cruise ship singer AND a Cabaret singer in one "insult." He needs some new lines pronto! Finally, Paula must've still been reeling from her alleged hit and run accident charge over the weekend because she was hopped up on some sorta pill tonight. I never noticed how weird her clapping is. She claps her hand like a duck moves its beak. I'm not kidding, pay attention to it next time and see if you know what I mean. I never noticed that before. I did notice, however, that her little "I love you/I love you not" bit with Simon is getting really boring and tiresome. She needs some new lines pronto! Prediction? Mikalah's out tomorrow.
