I've become so infatuated with TV shows that I have now taken to calling my friends during commercials to make sure they reacted the same way that I did to the previously played scene. Take, for example, One Tree Hill tonight. When Hailey stood up Nathan, leaving him all by himself with the romantic coach ride he had planned for her... I let out a huge "awwwww!" (an extra "w" tacked on for effect). "I bet Karla and Azadeh just said 'awwww' really loud too," I thought to myself. But somehow, because I needed to be sure, I felt the sudden urge to call them up and ask them if they had, indeed, let out an "awwww." Then when Peyton got all upset and started taking her cocaine bottle out, I was totally panicking and practically screaming "Please don't let this be a Kelly Martin 90210 repeat!" I was pretty sure Karla would know what I meant and that she would laugh... but again, I sorta wanted to hear her tell me that over the phone. And in the end, when Brooke and Lucas had the sappy friendship moment, I could hear Karla and Az saying "Ohh, they're gonna hook up again!" in the wink wink nudge nudge manner we're all too familiar with... but I was only picturing them saying that and not actually hearing it from them. It was an uncomfortable feeling... Finally, they sadly did not show previews for One Tree Hill next week but they DID show what appeared to be a gay crush revealed on Jack and Bobby tomorrow! Whoa. I was all ready to call Azadeh to discuss this... but then looked at the clock and realized that it was past midnight and the poor girl probably would not appreciate an "OMG! There's a gross gay love triangle thing on TV tomorrow!!" call from me. And so I hung up.
