Holy Emmanuelle Vaugier! Everyone's favourite teen-drama guest star is back - this time on North Shore (Yes... I watched North Shore... I thought I'd give it another chance now that it's right after The OC on FOX) Speaking of The OC... OC how I missed thee. Tonight's season premiere started off slow but by the end - with Theresa's fake losing the baby story and Seth and Ryan returning home - I was all into it again. I chuckled at the skinny dig at Marissa/Mischa; I got all sad when Theresa cried in her mother's arms; I got warm and fuzzy when Seth hugged Kirsten; and... get this... I actually felt sorry for Julie Cooper when Marissa screamed at her. I mean, I know we've seen that "Do you wanna know what's wrong? AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" scene like ten thousand times in previews this summer, but still, it didn't make any more sense seeing it in the actual episode. All it made me think was a) Huh? and b) Julie Cooper looks good in her darker hair dye colour and does not deserved to be yelled at like that by her trampy, drinks Sex on the Beach on the beach daughter! And I'd never thought I'd say this, but The OC is stealing ideas from another show! The hot latino gardener thing is SO Miguel on "Desperate Housewives" y'know? Psssh! Okay, the OC obssession is beginning again... crap. My roommate walked in halfway through the episode and wanted to know what was happening. The only thing I could think of to say was "SHHHHH!" (oops, sorry Peter!) As for North Shore... I've decided that it's trying TOO hard to be like The OC... only sluttier (North Shore? More like North HOR!). I mean, in tonight's episode alone, they: 1. Had Hailey from The OC (Amanda Rrrrrighetti!) 2. Had Switchfoot's "Dare You to Move" playing in the background (Just like in The OC previews) 3. Also used the word "blow" in a sentence (Just like it was used by Julie Cooper on The OC tonight) 4. Referenced Newport Beach as one of the character's hometown 5. Celebrated Christmakah okay fine... they didn't have the Christmakah thing. But they had a lot of similarities to The OC... which only means that I'll have to keep watching North Shore.
