CDs and ME

Update: The new Destiny's Child CD is not really what you'd expect... There are no "girl-power" anthems a la Survivor, nor are there any fast songs apart from Lose My Breath and (sorta) Soldier. The rest of the album is very mellow... Apparently they were going for the "classic, timeless" songs rather than poppy, flavour of the week songs. While I commend them for that, they should've picked bigger hits to put on the CD...

BUTTTT... the Green Day CD, "American Idiot" is really really good! It DID live up to the hype, the best songs being the title track and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," which has been spinning in my CD player the past two days non-stop.

Since I'm on a buying CDs kick, I might as well list some of the other discs I'm intending to purchase this month: (basically all Idol-related... shut up)

Nov. 23rd
- Ruben Studdard's gospel album (Yes he's still around! Listen to the clips on his WEBSITE and tell me you're not inspired!)
- Fantasia Barrino - Free Yourself (I totally think she's got soul y'know? Go to her WEBSITE and listen to the clips too... one of the songs totally sounds like an Usher rip-off, which is to say, I loved it!)
- Kalan Porter - 219 Days (Ryan Malcolm who? Let's just say Kalan called my friend Emily and she got to talk to him for half an hour... for an interview... but still...)
- Gwen Stefani - Love Angel Music Baby (Gwen Stefani is so cool! Like she's such a cool and unique individual y'know? I dunno what you're waiting for but I'm buying her CD! hehe)
- I am NOT buying gay Clay's Christmas CD... but did you know that George Huff from American Idol 3 put out a Holiday CD? Again, go check out the clips because he has like the *perfect* voice for Christmas dontcha think?

Nov. 30th
- broke from buying 4 CDs the week before...
- Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway (Watch Kelly's new video HERE. The song is called "Since You've Been Gone" and is supposed to signal Kelly's new "rock" direction... although the guy who wrote the song is Max Martin, also known as "guy who wrote all of Britney's first CD..." Hmmm...)

I'm also gonna hit up the used CD stores to pick up Jesse McCartney's debut CD (because I really like the song "Beautiful Soul!") and to find Tyler Hilton's debut CD (because I really like One Tree Hill)

Now that you've read my CD picks of the month, go to MUCHMUSIC and check out my ex-Canadian Idol, Devon Soltendieck's CD picks. haha... remember? I used to think he was really cool and then... well... I don't really wanna get into it. It's complicated. heehee (Damn, he was in Montreal and I didn't even get a chance to stalk... I mean... talk to him...)
