Annnnd The OC is good again....

Aside from Seth's incessant yapping (which I guess is 'spose to be funny but comes off rather annoying), I found the episode to be the perfect mix of fun and drama that we've come to expect from the show. I'm a big fan of self-referencing (see Tim's love of Dawson Creek) and so, the scene with Summer watching "The Valley" and telling people not to disturb her b/w 8 and 9 on Thursday nights was particularly funny! I'm also digging the new characters because let's face it, they lasted an entire episode and none of them went all "Oliver" on us... yet (Plus they're pretty, especially the bar girl, who was on a pre-maturely cancelled show on FOX called "Skin" last year fyi). The other girl was named Lindsay and uncoincidentely looked a bit like Lindsay Lohan eh? Minus the greasy hair, sluttiness and foreign exchange ex-boyfriend...

Alright so listen, I realized that people keep referring to Julie as Julie Cooper. But she divorced Jimmy Cooper and married Caleb Nichol. So shouldn't she be Julie NICHOL? Hmmm... that just doesn't have quite the ring to it...

As for the next episode, why do we have to wait two weeks for it?! Damn you FOX if you're postponing The OC for yet another "lost" episode of The Simple Life!

Addendum: Benjamin McKenzie is turning into Seth Cohen... or rather, Adam Brody! Did you see Ben on Leno tonight? He did the exact same witty, sarcastic, self-depreciating, muttering cynical comments other his breath thing that Adam Brody does! And he added in the exaggerated hand gestures and smug look thing too! I swear... the Seth Cohen influence is rubbing off on Benny...

Addendum: Read Entertainment Weekly's OC review HERE. It says everything I meant to say but forgot to say/didn't feel like writing
