I think James Lafferty may have started using Pro-Activ. His face totally cleared up! (That or the One Tree Hill makeup artist is doing a fantastic job!) The actress who plays Deb on the other hand should STOP going to Lindsay Lohan's tanning salon. Orange is not a nice shade on anyone. Anyone. Tonight's premiere of One Tree Hill reminded me of why I refer to it as the "second-rate OC" and the "knock-off Dawson's Creek." Which is to say, I totally enjoyed it. Any show with Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton skinny dipping gets an "A" from me! Heck, any show with Sophia Bush, period, gets an "A" from me! (Please read that line and note the commas, carefully). I still don't love the whole Hayley/Nathan marriage storyline thing, but kudos to the writers for intermingling their marriage vows over the other storylines at the end of the episode. "Till death do us part" was such a poignant line for tonight's ep dontcha think? In a perfect television teen-drama world (and I mean this in the nicest way possible) Dan will hopefully soon die, so that we can be rid of his pompous attitude and domineering ways once and for all. Unfortunately, yours truly is addicted to reading spoilers and can report that not only will Dan survive his little heart attack, he will also retain his aforementioned pompous attitude and domineering ways for the rest of the season. Great.... I don't think there's a bigger asshole on television than the character of Dan on One Tree Hill... except Colin on The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race finale was tonight (you like that segue eh?) and I am so... frickin... happy that Colin and Christie didn't win! I'm slightly bummed that the Christian models (a.k.a. my role models) didn't win either, but Chip and Kim deserved it. Who woulda thunk it that a Black guy with a beer gut and his just-as-Black, God-fearing ghetto-slang wife would win a show on CBS? I mean, UPN, maybe, or BET, but CBS? Good for them! As for Colin and Christie, he put on his "brave face" and told the cameras that "I love Christie and that's all that matters." And then he beat her to death for costing him the competition. Okay I'm kidding. But he just has that look y'know? Tomorrow: Smallville premiere. Super.
